1. Your personal data - what is it?
The CHC Board of Management is the Controller in respect of your personal data.
An individual can be identified by their personal data. The processing of personal data is governed by the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
2. Why we collect your personal data
The legal basis for processing your personal data is that we have a legitimate interest in doing so. The legitimate interest being pursued is that as a Synagogue and community organisation we need to hold a certain amount of personal data relating to our members and visitors so that we can communicate with them, manage their membership and ensure the safety of community members.
CHC complies with obligations under the GDPR by keeping personal data up to date, by storing it and destroying it securely; by not collecting or retaining excessive amounts of data, by protecting personal data from loss, misuse or unauthorised access and disclosure and by ensuring that appropriate measures are in place to protect personal data.
3. Sharing your personal data
Your personal data will be treated as strictly confidential and will only be shared with other members of the community for purposes connected with CHC. Limited data will be shared eg to facilitate burial.
We will only share your data with third parties outside CHC with your consent.
Visitor personal information (including current and previous home addresses, ID documents, job information) may be shared with the Community Security Trust and/or Police for the legitimate purpose of verifying identity.
4. How long do we keep your personal data?
We retain data on community contacts and visitor security information whilst it is still current; records of former Members for one year after leaving CHC, gift aid declarations and associated paperwork to meet legal obligations
5. Your rights and your personal data
You have the right to request a copy of the information that we hold about you and to ask us to correct or remove any information you think inaccurate. Contact us at the above address by email or post if you would like a copy of your personal information.

6. Further processing
If we wish to use your personal data for a new purpose we will provide you with a new notice explaining this new use prior to commencing the processing and setting out the relevant purposes and processing conditions. We will seek your consent prior to the new processing.
